Holbox Junior Open: A Springboard for Young Golf Talent

This is the fifth time that Holbox is sponsoring the Global Junior Golf tournament. This year, eleven nationalities, divided into three age categories (U14, U18, and U23), participated in the tournament. The tournament director is proud of the large player field: "We have been able to work on the name and the tournament over the years. The eventual winner will even be listed on the world amateur ranking, should they not already be included."

Holbox is not only the main sponsor of this event but also a driving force behind the development of young golf talent. The company, which has supported the Holbox Junior Open for five years, sees this tournament as an opportunity to help young people develop in the sport of golf. Through their involvement in this and many other tournaments around the world, Holbox plays a crucial role in providing a platform for young golfers to showcase and improve their skills. Organizer Martin van der Schans also reports that Holbox, the main sponsor of all five previous editions, has committed to being the main sponsor again in 2025. "We are very pleased that we can continue the tradition with a sponsor like Holbox!"

Global Junior Golf is a German company that organizes more than forty-five youth tournaments around the world. Van der Schans hosts eleven of these tournaments. The Holbox Junior Open is part of the Global Junior Golf tour, where players up to the age of 23 compete in 45 tournaments worldwide. This year, the tournament also counts towards the NGF annual ranking and the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

In the U14 category, Greta Jahnke and Noah Pimentel Beger won. The U23 was claimed by Britt op den Winkel among the women and Gianni van der Veeke among the men. The overall winners of the tournament came from the U18 category. Maja Dultinger from Austria stayed ahead of Daphne Haemers and Valencia Chang, while Nathan Hooft held off Guus Lafeber and Kayden Chang.
